The Warm Home Discount

Here at Fischer Energy, we genuinely want to help as many as our customers as possible keep their energy costs manageable. Keeping warm throughout the winter can be a costly business and for some a bit of help with their bills can make a real difference. So, we are pleased to let you know that we have voluntarily opted in to the governments Warm Home Discount scheme.

What is the Warm Home Discount Scheme?

The WHD was set up to provide eligible customers with a rebate on their gas and electricity bills. Some energy suppliers work with the government to give extra financial support, and if you fulfill the criteria you will receive a rebate of £140 which will be automatically applied to your bill.

Am I eligible?

You will automatically receive the Warm Home Discount if you receive the Guaranteed Credit Element of Pension Credit. This applies to both the no-savings credit and savings credit elements.

What do I need to do?

The good news is not much! Keep an eye out for a letter which will tell you that you have qualified for the discount. The rest is done by us and the government. The money will automatically be deducted from your account once everything has been processed. It really is that simple!

Why are Fischer Energy offering the Warm Home Discount?

Energy suppliers are only obligated to provide the Warm Home Discount once they reach 250,000 customers, so a lot of the smaller companies have chosen not to. It’s a shame as many people who have switched for a cheaper price end up losing the £140 discount they used to receive, often meaning that any savings they thought they were receiving end up lost.

We are still quite a long way off having that amount of customers (We only started in January!), but, as a company we pride ourselves on being as fair as we can to our customers. We wouldn’t want you to switch to us, only to lose your discount, so we made the decision to voluntarily opt in to the scheme.

Remember, if you are eligible to receive the Warm Home Discount you can relax. Just leave it with us and we will make sure the money is taken off your bill.
